Making Money Online. The Facts!

Many sites make huge claims about making money online, but are they real Business Opportunities or just scams? 

If you, like me watch late night television and infomercials you will have noticed that there are many business opportunities and numerous ways of making money online.

There are always lots of advertisements in print media, television and only a few months ago I heard a commercial on the radio.

After listening to all the hype about home based and internet based business opportunities I made a decision to look into it and see if I could supplement or even replace our income.

When doing my research I discovered that some of them are utter and complete scams and others are complicated business ventures. I did come up with a strategy that I used in sorting out the various opportunities.

When you are eager to find an online money making opportunity it is easy to get caught up in spending money in order to obtain information. That was the first mistake I made. When looking at an online money making opportunity do not pay for information about the opportunity.

We have all encountered sites that claim you can make thousands of dollars per week spending only a few minutes a day whenever it suits you. The majority of these sites call themselves data entry opportunities.

They tell you that if you are able to type an email you can do the job and make thousands of dollars a week. What they neglect to tell you prior to buying into the company is that you need to spend a great amount of money posting the advertisements that you type up.

I paid to learn more about the data entry positions. In the hype portion I was told that all I needed to do was to fill out forms and literally just post them on the internet. I was not told that I had to pay upfront to get the forms and then had to pay again to post them.

I also had to do research as to which company had the most potential of helping me recoup my money as well as make a profit. It was a very complicated, expensive and misleading experience.

Undettered, I tried to make money online with the completion of surveys. This really is the biggest rip off that there is on the internet and they should carry a health warning! Hours upon hours I spent filling out survey forms until I was keeling over with boredom.

For one thing you can join companies to get mailed the surveys without going through a third party. The third party gets you to pay money upfront then they simply give you the websites of the survey companies. I ended up spending money joining music and make up clubs as well as ordering magazines.

There was one survey that I took part in that paid me $1.50 for taking. The third party company stated that you could make hundreds of dollars a week spending fifteen to twenty hours.

This making money online survey business was definitely not for me! The person that was making money online in this case was the one that found the survey takers for the companies, who in turn bought from the companies.

Making money online is possible, it's more than possible because people are doing it every day. But what I will tell you is that  it is not a get rich quick scheme and the old saying “if it sounds too good to be true it probably is” definitely applies.

There are other avenues of making money online however that provide you with a slow but steady income until you build  your business up.

If you decided to get yourself a website, a good idea would be to generate instant income would be to put  some articles relating to your particular topic of interest and then join the google adsense program and place google adsense on it. Google adsense are the adverts that you see on many  pages on the web and when somebody clicks on these, you will get paid a percentage of the commission.
